Waiver form: click here.

The Co-Presenters of the Lincoln Fish n’ Kids Fishing Derby: the KIWANIS Club of Lincoln, Lincoln Police Activities League (PAL), Lincoln Hills Fishing Group (LHFG), and Big M Fishery invite “YOU” to become a volunteer in assisting presenting this world class fishing derby for the youth of our “All America City,” Lincoln, California.

There are actually three different types of Volunteer Opportunities that “YOU CAN” become involved in with our Fishing Derby:

1.       EVENT PLANNING ASSISTANT:   Our Derby Steering Committee oversees many vital functional areas that are minimally required in order to make this fantastic annual youth event happen.  The Committee is always looking for individuals who would be interested in “ASSISTING” our Steering Committee staff in a variety of areas (Administrative, Budget, Revenue Generation, Publicity, Registration, Food/Beverage, Event T-Shirts, etc.).

NOTE:  If “YOU” are interested in “ASSISTING” as an “Event Planning Assistant,” please contact Derby Steering Committee Chairperson, Marty Joseph @ (916) 543-0803.

2.       FISHING MENTORS:  Here is an opportunity for “YOU” to become a fishing mentor for a young person between the ages of 7 to 12.  Important to know is that while having some fishing experience is “Nice To Have,” it is “Not Required” to be one of our Fishing Mentors.  We provide all of the equipment.  If you have expertise, great, if not, we provide “YOU” with a Training Session for those of you that are not familiar with fishing and the special “Quick Release Hooks” and the “Equipment” that we will be using.  We expect to have 100-125 children fishing..........some of them for the first time in their life.........Believe us when we say that “You Won’t Believe The Smiles On These Kid’s Faces.”  We need to have fishing mentors showing them how to fish safely, and how to execute the “catch-and-release” method of fishing.  Our goal is to match up a fishing mentor with one child, however, realistically you will be probably working with two kids.........Double The Fun!  At least one parent is required to be present with each child for supervision.

3.       ONSITE DAY-OF-EVENT “GENERAL VOLUNTEER”:   The “General Volunteer” position on Derby Day is one of the most crucial volunteer needs that the Derby has.  These volunteers work the various booths for Registration, T-Shirt Distribution, Mentor Assignment, Fishing Equipment Distribution, Photography, Food Distribution, Parking, General Safety, Certificate Distribution, Event Program Assistance, Clean-Up, etc.

As one of these “General Volunteers” you will be assisting a Steering Committee member with these activities.
