Q: Who are the people or organizations behind presenting the Lincoln Fish n’ Kids Fishing Derby?
A: The Co-Presenters of the Lincoln Fish n’ Kids Fishing Derby are The KIWANIS Club of Lincoln, the Lincoln Police Activities League (PAL), the Lincoln Hills Fishing Group (LHFG), and the Big M Fishery.

When and Where is the next scheduled “Lincoln Fish n’
Kids Fishing Derby” event?
A: The 3rd Annual Lincoln Fish n’ Kids Fishing Derby is scheduled for 9:00AM, Saturday, September 18, 2010 to be held at the Big M Fishery Ponds, 280 Westland Road, Lincoln, CA (8 miles West of the City of Lincoln off Nicolaus Road 4 miles past the Lincoln Airport).
Q: How much does it cost for my child to attend the Fishing Derby?
A: The Fishing Derby is a “FREE” event for participating children. Donations come from the Co-Presenters and other Lincoln community organizations, businesses and individuals which allow the event to be provided “FREE” for Lincoln youth.

Are there any requirements for children to
participate in the Fishing Derby?
A:
The only requirements are that: (1) this is a
“Catch-and-Release Fishing Event; (2) the child MUST be
between the ages of 7 thru 12; (3) the child must live in
the Lincoln 95648 Zip Code Area; (4) the child “MUST” be
accompanied by at least one parent; and (5) the child will
utilize Derby Event Equipment (DO NOT BRING FISHING
EQUIPMENT).
Additionally, though the Fishing Derby is only open to
Lincoln children, only the first 125 Pre-Registered
applicants will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve
basis.
Registration applications beyond 125 will be put on a
Waiting List.

Why is the Fishing Derby restricted just to children
ages 7 thru 12 living in the Lincoln 95648 Zip Code Area?
A: The Fishing Derby is a “Local Lincoln Community Event,” and thus the Co-Presenters solicit local funds to present the event based on the premise that the secured funds will be utilized solely for providing this opportunity for Lincoln area children.

How do I register my child for the Fishing Derby?
A:
There are a number of ways.
You can download and complete a “Participant
Registration and Waiver” Form found behind the
“REGISTRATION” TAB at this website; or you can write or
phone us utilizing the information found behind the “CONTACT
US” TAB and request that a “Participant Registration and
Waiver” Form be sent to you.
Once you complete the registration materials you then
mail it in to us at : Lincoln Fish n’ Kids Fishing Derby,
P.O. Box 685, Lincoln, CA 95648.
Q:
What is provided to children attending the Fishing Derby?
A:
We provide all of the registered children FREE use of the Derby’s fishing
equipment and tackle; a skilled “Fishing Mentor” to assist them in fishing and
learning the catch-and-release method of fishing; a Derby Commemorative T-Shirt,
an Official Derby Fishing Certificate; a Keepsake Photo of their Catch,
and a Free Lunch.
Q:
Once I have registered my child for the Fishing Derby, is there anything
else that we must do?
A:
Just show up with your registered child on Saturday, September 18, 2010
at 9:00AM prepared to have fun! We
ask that if for any reason that your child is not able to participate, that you
contact us and advise us of your cancellation so that we can provide another
child on the Waiting List with this opportunity.
Q:
As parents, do we have to arrange for any type of fishing license in
order for our child to participate in the Fishing Derby?
A:
No fishing license is required for children of this age, and for future
reference, you and your family are not required to possess any fishing license
to fish at Big M Fishery.
Q:
If my family has more than one child ages 7 thru 12 living in the Lincoln
95648 Zip Code Area, can they “all” participate in the Fishing Derby?
A: Yes, they can all participate, however, a separate “Participant Registration and Waiver” Form MUST be completed for each Derby participant.
Q:
Does my family have to provide any fishing equipment, bait, etc. so that
my child can participate in the Fishing Derby?
A:
No, the Fishing Derby owns its own equipment and provides the equipment
at no cost for the use by the children during the Derby.
We also provide the bait, tackle, etc., including a “Derby Fishing
Mentor” to assist the child in enjoying the event.
Q:
If I have a child registered in the Fishing Derby, is it permissible to
bring other family children who will not be fishing.......just to watch?
A: Yes, however, “Unregistered Children” are not allowed to be fishing during the event, and must remain as spectators.
Q: If any of our Adult family members would like to become involved with assisting the Fishing Derby, how do we go about it?
